There are basically two ways to create and publish the Function App in the Microsoft Azure. One of the ways is to create the Function App directly in the Microsoft Azure and publishing it from there itself. The second way is to create the Function App in the Visual Studio and publishing it from the Visual Studio.
When an Microsoft Azure Function App is published from the Visual Studio, it is set by default as read-only mode. This default behavior becomes a problem when we do some changes using the custom Visual Studio function code in the existing Function App, that was initially created from the Microsoft Azure directly.
In this case, after deploying the Function App from the Visual Studio, it gets set to read-only mode. And now, as the Function App is in read-only mode the function may not work as expected.

Here is the solution –
In the “Function app settings” of the Function App on the Microsoft Azure portal, we can directly click the “Read/Write” button to make the Function App editable and “Read Only” button to make it read-only. Please see the below image for more clarity.
