Provide easy access to a queue for current user

, August 26, 20202876 Views

Recently, we got a requirement which required us to easily allow a user to access their queue. After a descent amount of struggle, we finally found a way which would allow a user to see their queue without fumbling in the menu or advanced find option. So, here is what we did.

Lets start.

  • Open desired app. Select ‘Services’ from the sitemap and then click on ‘Cases’ from Service group (refer below image).

  • Click on ‘New Case’ button for creating a new case.

  • Enter the required details of New Case and then click on ‘Save’ button.

  • To add this case to any queue, click on ‘Add to Queue’ button from the Ribbon.

  • Click on ‘Search’ button to select the required queue.

  • After selecting the required queue, click on ‘Add’ button. This way your case will be added to selected queue.

  • Now, from sitemap select ‘Queues’. As per the below image, you’ll be able to see the default view of Queue.

  • Click on down arrow button on queue dropdown and then select the required queue (refer below image).
  • Click on down arrow button to select required view and click the ‘Pin’ button beside the the view you want to pin (refer below image).

This way the current user can set the default queue by pinning the desired view. So, whenever you’ll click on ‘Queues’ from the sitemap you’ll see the pinned queue automatically.

I hope this will help you!!
