Our client belongs to a large enterprise that works with a lot of data. Client used SSAS Multidimensional model to arrange their business analytics. Producing comprehensive insights required a model like this one because of its ability to handle complex logic and large datasets.
In a bid to enhance data analysis, to examine various indicators across their business areas, the client came to us with a requirement that they urgently need better reporting capabilities. They wanted reporting solutions that are easy to comprehend and capable of effectively utilizing the SSAS Multidimensional data model and as a result they went with SSRS. They also wanted to create separate reports for Exporting to Excel and PDF to meet the requirements.
The Solution
- Making Pixel-Perfect Paginated Reports with SSRS: Utilized SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to produce paginated reports with pixel-perfect accuracy that adhere to the exact formatting specifications needed for analytics. Created and modified report layouts, including headers, footers, and page breaks for print-ready reports, utilizing SSRS tools to provide the best possible data display.
- SSAS Cube MDX Query Development: Created Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) queries to effectively retrieve data from the SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cube. Navigated multidimensional data structures using MDX queries to obtain particular metrics and dimensions needed for in-depth research. Used MDX to do intricate computations and aggregations in order to extract valuable information from the SSAS Multidimensional cube.
- Developing MDX Measures in Response to User Needs: In designing and implementing custom MDX measures within queries, the focus was on computing and aggregating key performance indicators (KPIs) according to specified business requirements. This involved creating custom MDX measures to meet these needs.
- Chart and Visualization Integration: Enhanced SSRS reports by incorporating a range of visually appealing charts and interactive visualizations (such as bar, pie, and line graphs) to facilitate data comprehension and analysis.
